2009 Tristar Prospects Plus Hobby Box
Tristar was kind enough to send over a box of 2009 Tristar Prospects Plus. If you have read the blog for awhile then you may have figured out that I am not much of a “prospector.” I really don’t have much interest in chasing down the next hot prospect but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the cards. A couple weeks ago, Mario posted a preview of Prospects Plus and judging by his comment section, a majority seem to prefer the Tristar design over the Elite. We have one regular hobby box here to bust. (Tristar also offers a “HOT BOX” hobby box, limited to 720 boxes.) For checklist information, click here. Let’s see how this box goes and be sure to let me know what you think of the bust!
Boxbusters Live Box Break of 2009 Tristar Prospects Plus Hobby Box will start Monday, November 23rd at approximately 7pm CST. Be sure to tune in – I will be giving away cards from the bust as it happens!!

Well, that wraps up the LIVE box break – what did you think? Does Tristar have enough here to compete with Elite? If not, what do they need to do different in your opinion? To be eligible for giveaways from this bust, leave your thoughts in the comment section and stay tuned to Boxbusters.net for the giveaways!

How do you give, or should I ask how do I win, cards as you open packs?
Thanks.
Ric
I will have different ways of doing it during the bust – but mainly just by being here and leaving comments……
Thanks for the response Ross…I will stay tuned and keep refreshing. Thanks again.
Ric
I’m not into prospect cards either…BUT LET THE BUSTING BEGAN!!!!
Ross,
This is the first time I have been to your site and I just took sometime to read through it. Your troop card give-a-way is great, how did that turn out? I didn’t see who won the cards overseas,if you need some help with regards to shipping costs for the troops I would donate some cash.
Ric.
Still waiting to hear back from my buddy on that Ric. As soon as I get anything back I will be sure to post it. I appreciate the offer on the shipping costs. Perhaps I will take up donations next time.
I like them. Tri-Stars are usually pretty affordable and look good if you can get them signed. Living in NC provides plenty of opportunity from that (especially when your town’s team is in the same division as Kansas City, Washington, Pittsburgh and Baltimore’s minor league teams).
Normally I love Tristar products, however, I cant help but be a little let down by this one. Without the MILB license these cards just don’t have the same feeling as previous releases by tristar. This product reminds me a lot of royal rookies from back in 2000 because they dont have any logos. I love minor league baseball and I love minor leaguers autographs but I feel like this product wont have much value in 10 years. Kind of like royal rookies, a lot of the prospects won’t make it to the big leagues and the ones that do won’t have much fanfare regarding this product. That said, I still plan on picking up a blaster or two of these when I see them in stores because I cant resist minor league cards!
Good feedback so far guys. Really appreciate the thoughts.
