Think about the possibilities on this one!
First, the card would not have to be very thick – for example, have you ever seen the portable USB notebook mice – I know there is an HP one and the USB stick that slides inside the mouse is TINY – easily would fit inside a thicker card, such as a Jersey card for example. Maybe you insert it in certain memorabilia cards that have a real significance… such as a record breaking performance or a classic playoff game. Then on the USB stick you could incorporate maybe a short clip of the game, interviews, stats,interactive links, etc. Maybe a short message from the player or “star” – the possibilities are mind boggling. So what do you think – have I gone off the deep end with this one or do you think this is one of those ideas just crazy enough to work?

Not off the deep end but it will be interesting to see who best merges technology and sportscards. Topps 3D was cute. (If you could get them to work) But after you do it once. So what? And they have no collectible value.
No no see Rob you still get an actual card – not some freakish looking CD. Also if done correctly – the collector could use it to track his player throughout the year or even his career. They could use interactive links, etc to make this happen – plus as I said you would still be getting an actual card so not sure why you would not have collectible value. Not to mention the card would need to be a memorabilia card to so its thick enough to put the usb stick inside… so really your just adding to your hit.
That is an interesting concept and one that I think would be cool to explore. Too bad I have no card producing skills/technology or insane capital to dump into this…
