We have one hobby box of Tristar TNA Knockouts up today. If you recall, the Tristar TNA Cross the Line series was recently reviewed here by Darkship and as a TNA fan, he really enjoyed the product. So the question is, did Tristar please it’s wrestling fan base with their latest release of TNA Knockouts? Let’s find out shall we?
Product Information including checklists can be found here.
As you can see from the scan above, there are only 3600 boxes produced – I received box #1598. 4 cards per pack – 18 packs per box & 4 hits per box. Now let’s get to the cards.
Around here we always start with the base cards. This set has 107, with cards #90-107 being the “Revealed” cards which are only found in TNA Knockouts Revealed Edition. Cards #1-89 are broken in to 8 different types. We have the Knocked Out, Male Call, 2 Peace, Hemme Powered, Traci’s Take, Furry Friends, Once Upon a Time, and Thoughts by Big Sexy. We’ll start with the Knocked Out cards.
Most of these cards I pulled used action shots. The quality is good, cards are in good shape and good gloss. I would not want to be Cute Kip in the above photo.
The next type up is the Male Call cards. These cards feature a quote from a male wrestler about the female featured on the front. Some are kind of funny some are pretty silly.
Once upon a time is another type we have and this is one I could do without I think. I mean on one hand it is neat to see pictures of the ladies when they were little but still, most of these featured pretty corny pictures and I really don’t like the design at all.
Big Sexy makes an appearance on the Thoughts By Big Sexy types. I pulled 4 of these and 2 were “action” shots and the others were posed for. On the back Big Sexy tells you what he thinks of the ladies featured on the front. Again most of these are pretty corny but some are pretty good.
Another type that appears to be heavy on the action photos is the Hemme Powered cards. 2 of the cards I pulled appeared to be posed for but the others used action shots.
The backs of these feature a quote from Christy Hemme.
Traci’s Take feature a brief description on the back’s done by Traci Brooks. These also appear to be heavy on the action shots and one even featured some cage action.
Last but certainly not least we have the 2 Peace types. These are some HOT cards let me tell you. Using an obvious play on the word peace these cards feature a SMOKIN‘ photo of your favorite TNA lady on front and a brief description of their favorite charity and experiences with them on the back. A pretty clever idea IMO and it’s tough to find anything to complain about with these once you see them
Now tell me – who the hell needs the Hobby Hookup from Leah whoever when you can have this 2 Peace of Angelina Love. What’s that? You prefer redheads? Well let me help you out with that how about Christy Hemme.
If that doesn’t do it for you then I say your f’n coo-kooo bat sh*t crazy but perhaps, just maybe some of you out there like those brunettes the best. Well my friends allow me to introduce Traci Brooks.
Now honestly, do you think Leah what’s her name is gonna do that for you? Not a chance in hell my friend. Guess what, thats not even the best part! We still have a few “hits” to check out! First up I’ll go over the one parallel card #’d to 40 or less. My box had the Furry Friends parallel of Jacqueline #25 of 40.
I am an animal person so I think this is kind of a cool idea but I am not so fond of this particular card.
Another “hit” that is advertised is the Top Drawer inserts. These contain event-used memorabilia. I pulled a nice looking Jenna Morasca with a plain black swatch. # 57 of 75
Last up we have the AUTO – Signature Curves. It is Taylor Wilde and is a sticker auto. The card is #’d KA13. No doubt some are unhappy about the sticker auto but it’s tough to complain about the photo IMO. WoW.
There are still 6 packs of cards from this box that I have not opened. Since I was able to pull an example of everything I needed for review purposes I decided to not open the packs and give them out instead. The box claims 2 Signature Curve cards per box – so one of these packs should contain an autograph. Stay tuned as I will be giving these packs away along with the cards from the packs I did open in the next few days. Yes, even the 2 Peace cards. As always – leave a comment below if you have any thoughts or suggestion on this product and thanks again to TRISTAR for providing the box.
