This hobby box of PROjections Series 1 was provided by Tristar.
If you are not familiar with the product, you can find the sell sheet here. In short, Tristar claims you will receive 9 hits per box, 4 being Autos, 1 Taylor-Made game-used card and 4 parallels #’d to 50 or less. There were only 75 Hobby cases produced of this product and each box is serial numbered, mine was #0386.
Around here we always start with the base card. In all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised with these.
I could do without the “Officially Licensed” wording down the side of the cards and as others have noted, some of the photography is a little dark but for the most part these are really solid looking cards IMO.
The parallels that were pulled from this box are below. Most of you know how I feel about these by now but at least these are easy to tell apart and there is not a mind-numbing assortment of these.
Green #’d to 50, Yellow #’d to 25, Orange #’d to 5 and Purple = 1/1.
A+ to Tristar for that if nothing else.
Last but not least “THE HITS.”
4 Autographs and 1 Taylor Made game used card. If you add those 5 to the above parallels you have your 9 guaranteed hits per box. This box had another surprise in it however. As I mentioned in this post, the very first printed Tristar Obak cards can now be found exclusively in Tristar PROjections 2009 Series 1. Each mini case of PROjections includes a limited edition card of Tim Beckham. (Limited to 150, individually numbered.) This box had # 119/150.
I really like the look of these Obak cards…. what do you think about them?
The video for this bust can be found here and once again I would like to thank Tristar for sponsoring this bust. The full results can be found below.
