I still am not fond of having college kids on the Gridiron Kings cards but the cards themselves I really like. A LOT. This is a platinum version of Limas Sweed from Texas. The platinum parallel of the Gridiron Kings are #’d to 25.
Sharp looking card IMO. In addition to the Gridiron Kings inserts I also pulled 2 Century Stars, 1 Century Legend, 1 Dynasty and 1 Generations. I am not real fond of the Century Stars cards but the Dynasty and Generations inserts are pretty cool.
I also pulled 4 Rookies, 2 being the regular rookie hobby parallels #’d to 999. The others were a Platinum Century Proof #’d to 25 and a Bronze Century Proof #’d to 250. (Note the different colors of the ROOKIE – top left bronze/top right platinum)
Last but not least the “hits” of the box. On average you are supposed to pull 4 Autographs or Memorabilia Cards from one hobby box. How did we do this time?
The Rookie Collection card is really a pretty slick looking card. Only problem was the one I got was damaged. The clear layer on top of the card was peeling back and is lifted up off the card on one side and peeling back. The stock itself is not damaged in any way so I assume this was something that should have been caught BEFORE the card left the factory. The Winslow Jr. card is a PATCH card. It is pure white but there is some stitching that you can see. Up next we have the Willie Parker jersey card and the Davone Bess AUTO. The Parker card is #’d to 250 and the Bess AUTO is #’d to 999. If you can not tell from the scan the AUTO is not on card – it is a sticker. For some reason though, it doesn’t seem to stick out like a sore thumb like some other sticker auto’s out there.
